Trwyn yr Wylfa Camping Site Penmaenmawr, Conwy

The name Trwyn yr Wylfa means watching point - and the site is exactly what the name suggests! Set on ten acres of land surrounded by glorious sea and mountain views, it is a stunning spot for a relaxing getaway. Campers and tourers are welcome on grass and hardstanding pitches with the option of electric. Just a 15 minute walk from the beach and within Snowdonia National Park, it's the perfect base for exploring North Wales.



Trwyn-yr-Wylfa Campsite is a small, friendly site set on the hillside above Penmaenmawr in Conwy, North Wales, offering sweeping views across the Menai Strait towards Anglesey and the Carneddau mountains. The site is popular with walkers, families, and couples looking for a peaceful base close to both the coast and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Expect simple, well-kept facilities, grass pitches, and easy access to footpaths straight from the gate, including sections of the Wales Coast Path and local circular walks.



The nearby village and seafront of Penmaenmawr provide a sandy beach, promenade, children's play areas, and basic amenities such as shops, cafés, and pubs. Within a short drive you can reach the historic walled town of Conwy with its UNESCO-listed castle, the Victorian resort of Llandudno, and mountain adventures around Llanberis and Betws-y-Coed. The area is ideal for hiking, cycling, watersports, and exploring Welsh heritage sites, while still offering quiet evenings with sea sunsets back at the campsite.



About the site
Enjoy a family adventure, ideally located for exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline just five minutes from Manorbier Beach, a sandy beach overlooked by Manorbier Castle and ten minutes from the charming town of Tenby. The site welcomes both tents and tourers across grass and hardstanding pitches, each with an electric hook up so there is no need to sacrifice your home comforts. There are also fully serviced pitches available for tourers, these include your electric, water and grey waste. Tents are located in a separate field to tourers, each field with its own facility block. Guests can relax in the sunshine with a dip in the outdoor pool, great for keeping the little ones entertained. Please note that the pool is only open from open from May half term until September. There are also goal posts on the camping field, a children's play area and a games room with a snooker table and air hockey for some indoor fun. For guests wanting some peace and quiet there is a natural garden area with a bench to sit and relax in. For exploring Pembrokeshire, the site is just ten minutes to the pretty town of Tenby with its colourful houses, sandy beach and harbour, it's a must visit! For keen walkers, the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is just a 25 minute walk away and stretches 186 miles along the coast. Evenings can be spent cooking up a delicious BBQ, but do note that open fires are not allowed. Sorry, only assistance dogs are allowed, no pets. Groups are not permitted at this site, this includes family groups. Please note the Tenby Long Course (26th- 28th June 2026) and Tenby Iron Man (13th September 2026) events result in the main road to the caravan site being closed at certain points during these events.
